SEAI DCB Grant Scheme

The rollout of the Defective Concrete Block (DCB) Grant Scheme has been significantly slow, causing delays for affected homeowners seeking remediation.

As owners of a property with defective concrete blocks we understand the frustrations regarding the lack of progress and clear information.

SEAI has introduced a special grant scheme for homeowners carrying out works under the DCB Grant Scheme. While not widely communicated by SEAI or Donegal County Council, this scheme provides additional funding in excess of €20,000  (net of costs) for those installing heat pumps / improving insulation / updating windows etc alongside remediation works.

 

These grants are completely separate from and in addition to the main remediation grants administered by Donegal County Council /Housing Agency. However, the application process can be complex. A pre-demolition BER and a post works BER is required in order to access these grants. We collaborate with DCB engineers and both local project co-ordinators to ensure the best possible return for those with affected  properties.
